Shinjuku Thief – number_station

A viscerally-embodied extension of music into an exhilarating multisensory narrative

Tue 20 Nov - Fri 23 Nov
RMIT Building 9
Price: $10

Featuring Shinjuku Thief

The latest installation from music, composition and sound design group (((20hz))) features new music by Shinjuku Thief and is a 15 minute, single participant experience using light, vibration, movement and sound to propel the individual audience member into Cold War spy thriller in 50’s Berlin. From a small waiting room, the participant is ushered into a large empty space. At the centre of the room is a motion simulator disguised as unassuming lounge chair. They are asked to put on headphones and instructed to keep their eyes shut for the duration whilst a lightshow flickers across their eyelids. This simulated debrief is a viscerally-embodied extension of music into an exhilarating multisensory narrative.

This event is part of MMW’s Self-Made series, which showcases and supports original, innovative music events by Melbourne’s emerging producers.
