Co-presented with Jack Daniel’s Barrel House
Featuring Japanese Wallpaper + Alice Ivy + special guest DJs
Jack Daniel’s Barrel House pop-up returns to Crown Riverwalk to kick off your summer of quality live independent music with a packed schedule of free performances, perfectly crafted whiskey cocktails and Southern hospitality from San Antone, by Bludso’s BBQ.
When Gab Strum started Japanese Wallpaper, and won triple j Unearthed High, he never expected to have played the main stage at Falls Festival, delight crowds at Splendour in the Grass or play Laneway Festival. On the live front the wunderkind is backed by a full band pushing out pulsating and hypnotic melodies in swaying, driving and ultimately romantic bursts.
Annika Schmarsel, better known as Alice Ivy, released a pair of singles, the cinematic Touch and soul-soaked Almost Here, which amassed 900,000 plays on Spotify and saw the Melbourne-based beatmaker draw comparisons to fellow sample-fiends one of her greatest influences, The Avalanches.
